Creamy Beef Pasta

A comforting dish featuring tender penne pasta coated in a rich, creamy sauce made from ground beef, garlic, and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water over high heat. Once boiling, add the penne pasta and cook until al dente, about 10-12 minutes. Reserve a cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, then crumble in the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, stirring often.
  3. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet, and cook for about 3-5 minutes until the onion is soft.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and Italian seasoning, stirring to combine. Simmer gently for about 3 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle in the grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Add the drained penne to the skillet and gently fold into the sauce until well coated. Use reserved pasta water to adjust the sauce thickness if needed.
  7. Serve in bowls, garnished with additional Parmesan and black pepper if desired.

Notes

For a creative twist, swap ground beef for Italian sausage, add sautéed mushrooms, or infuse with pesto for extra flavor.
