Creamy Beef Pasta

A cozy and delicious creamy beef pasta dish that combines penne, ground beef, and a rich sauce, perfect for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add your penne and cook according to package instructions—al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the aromatics by adding olive oil to a large skillet over medium heat. Toss in the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they’re soft and translucent. Then, add in the minced garlic, sautéing for an additional minute.
  3. Brown the beef by increasing the heat slightly and adding in the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, draining any excess fat.
  4. Create the creamy sauce by reducing the heat to low and pouring in the heavy cream, stirring well to combine. Bring it to a gentle simmer and sprinkle in the Italian seasoning and grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese is melted.
  5. Combine the pasta and sauce by tossing your cooked penne pasta into the skillet, coating it evenly with the sauce. Add reserved pasta water as needed for desired consistency.
  6. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  7. Plate the dish and serve after letting it sit for a couple of minutes.

Notes

Try adding sautéed mushrooms or spinach for extra nutrition! Feel free to adjust the seasonings to your taste.
