Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan

A delightful recipe for crispy chicken breasts coated in breadcrumbs, topped with marinara sauce and gooey mozzarella, all made effortlessly in an air fryer.

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil spray
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Butterflies the chicken breasts by slicing them horizontally to create thin cutlets.
  2. Create your breading setup by beating the eggs in one dish and mixing breadcrumbs, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in another.
  3. Dredge each chicken cutlet in the egg mixture, then transfer to the breadcrumb mixture, pressing down to adhere.
  4. Air fry the chicken at 360°F (182°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and fully cooked.
  5. Finalize the dish by spooning marinara sauce over each cutlet and topping with shredded mozzarella, then air fry for an additional 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  6. Serve with a side salad, pasta, or garlic bread after letting it rest for a few minutes.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider double-dipping the chicken before air frying. Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
