Crispy Chilli Beef Rice

A flavorful blend of crispy beef, fresh vegetables, and fragrant rice, this dish brings a delightful kick of spice to your dinner table.

  • 300g 5% fat beef mince
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 20ml dark soy sauce
  • 15ml sriracha
  • 10g tomato puree
  • 20g honey
  • 250g cooked rice
  • Sliced spring onion (optional)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients by chopping the onion, bell pepper, and garlic.
  2. Heat a large frying pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and sauté the chopped onion and garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add the beef mince to the pan, breaking it up as it cooks. Let it brown for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Toss in the bell pepper and sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until slightly softened.
  5. Stir in the dark soy sauce, sriracha, tomato puree, and honey. Mix well and let it simmer for 2 minutes.
  6. Add the cooked rice to the pan, mixing everything thoroughly and cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Final adjustments can be made with extra sriracha or soy sauce before plating.

Notes

Feel free to customize with leftover veggies or proteins. This dish freezes well, and you can use any type of rice you prefer.
