Homemade Apple Cobbler

A delightful apple cobbler recipe that brings the warmth of home and nostalgia in every bite.

  • 6 cups sliced apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the apples by coring and slicing them into thin pieces.
  3. Combine sliced apples with granulated sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice, then let it sit for about 10 minutes.
  4. Make the topping by mixing flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt; then blend in softened butter.
  5. Assemble the cobbler by greasing a 9×13 inch baking dish and layering the apple mixture and topping.
  6. Bake in the oven for 45-50 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Cool for 10 minutes before serving with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For a nutty version, add chopped walnuts or pecans to the topping. For a twist, drizzle caramel sauce over the apples before topping.
