Maple Glazed Apple Blondies

Celebrate autumn with these gooey, rich Maple Glazed Apple Blondies studded with sweet, tender apples.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 large apples (chopped finely)
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp butter (for the apple mixture)
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and dark brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract and cinnamon.
  5. Combine the dry mixture with the wet mixture, folding gently.
  6. Prepare the apples by sautéing in a small pan with butter, brown sugar, and a dash of cinnamon until tender.
  7. Fold the sautéed apples into the batter.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  9. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. Make the maple glaze by combining the powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  12. Glaze the cooled blondies and let them set for about 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For a nutty crunch, fold in chopped walnuts or pecans. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
