Pumpkin Shaped Sliders

Festive and flavorful sliders shaped like pumpkins, perfect for fall gatherings and Halloween parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup bread flour
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • Food coloring (orange, optional)
  • Sliders (burger patties or vegetables for filling)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, combine the yeast and warm milk (about 110°F). Allow it to sit for about 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, bread flour, sugar, salt, and pumpkin pie spice.
  3. Combine wet ingredients: In another bowl, mix the pumpkin puree, melted butter, and activated yeast mixture until well combined. Pour this mixture into your dry ingredients and stir until it starts to come together as a dough.
  4. Knead the dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  5. First rise: Place your kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1–1.5 hours.
  6. Shape your sliders: Once risen, punch down the dough to release air. Divide it into small portions and shape them into pumpkins.
  7. Create pumpkin details: Make gentle cuts around the edges to mimic the ridges of a pumpkin.
  8. Second rise: Cover the shaped sliders and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat your oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  10. Bake: Brush with milk or melted butter and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Cool and fill: Allow sliders to cool slightly before slicing and filling with your favorite toppings.
