Cherry Cobbler

A classic cherry cobbler featuring sweet Bing cherries and a buttery crumb topping. Perfect for summer gatherings or cozy nights at home.

  • 4 cups sweet Bing cherries, pitted and frozen
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. Combine the frozen cherries with half of the sugar and a sprinkle of salt in a bowl. Set aside.
  3. Make the batter by mixing together the flour, remaining sugar, and baking powder. Add melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract; stir until just combined.
  4. Assemble the dish by pouring the cherry mixture into the baking dish, then gently pour the batter over the top.
  5. Bake for about 45–50 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool for 15–20 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

For added flavor, top with vanilla ice cream and enjoy warm. Experiment with fruits like peaches or berries for variations!
