Halloween Chocolate Velvet Cookies

Deliciously dark, velvety cookies perfect for Halloween gatherings, adorned with colorful candies and sprinkles.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Halloween M&Ms
  • 1/4 cup candy eyeballs
  • 1/4 cup sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, mixing well after each addition, then pour in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the Halloween M&Ms and candy eyeballs.
  7. Scoop the dough onto prepared cookie sheets, leaving space in between.
  8. Optional: Add more M&Ms and sprinkles on top.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until set around the edges.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For alternative flavors, try adding peppermint extract or dried fruits.
