Cinnamon Apple Bread

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 12 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a standard 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients in another bowl: melted butter, eggs, and milk, adding vanilla extract.
  5. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients gently until just combined.
  6. Add the diced apples and fold them into the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Make the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  11. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread.

Notes

This bread can be frozen for up to three months. Use firm, tart apples for the best results.
