Blue Moon Ice Cream

A nostalgic and playful Blue Moon Ice Cream recipe with hints of raspberry, perfect for summer.

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon raspberry extract or 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon blue food coloring

Instructions

  1. Mix the Base: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy whipping cream, and sugar until the sugar has dissolved completely.
  2. Add Flavorings: Stir in the vanilla pudding mix, vanilla extract, raspberry extract, lemon extract, and salt.
  3. Get the Color Just Right: Add the blue food coloring and mix thoroughly.
  4. Chill: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours.
  5. Churn: Pour the chilled mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  6. Freeze: Transfer your ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Scoop into bowls or cones and indulge.

Notes

If you want to serve the ice cream at a party, take it out of the freezer about 10-15 minutes before serving.
