Glazed Strawberry Bread

A delightful loaf that combines the flavors of fresh strawberries and homemade bread, topped with a sweet glaze.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, pureed (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×5 inch loaf pan with butter or parchment paper.
  3. Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  4. Combine the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  5. Make the batter by combining wet and dry ingredients; fold in chopped strawberries.
  6. Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 55-65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes then on a wire rack.
  9. Make the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, pureed strawberries, and milk until smooth.
  10. Glaze the cooled bread and allow to set before slicing.

Notes

This bread is best served fresh but can be stored for up to a week.
