Classic Bruschetta

A vibrant Italian appetizer featuring fresh tomatoes, basil, and crispy bread, perfect for any gathering.

  • 1 large French baguette (sliced into 1/2-inch rounds)
  • 1/3 cup high-quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 large cloves of garlic (peeled and halved)
  • 1.5 lbs Roma tomatoes (seeded and finely diced)
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves (chiffonade)
  • 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil (for the topping)
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • 1/2 tsp flaky sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice your French baguette into 1/2-inch rounds.
  2. Drizzle generously with Extra Virgin Olive Oil over each slice.
  3. Toast the bread in the oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Combine finely diced Roma tomatoes, chiffonaded basil, 2 tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, balsamic glaze, flaky sea salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  5. Let the tomato mixture sit for about 5-10 minutes.
  6. Rub the cut side of garlic cloves over each slice of toasted bread.
  7. Spoon a generous amount of the tomato mixture onto each slice.
  8. Drizzle more balsamic glaze over the top, if desired.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Presentation is key! Serve on a rustic board with extra basil for garnish.
