Cantaloupe Agua Fresca

A refreshing summer drink made from ripe cantaloupe, lime juice, and a touch of sweetness.

Ingredients

  • 10 cups cantaloupe chunks (about 2 medium cantaloupes)
  • 3 cups filtered water
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 5 tablespoons granulated sugar (or more to taste)
  • Ice (for serving)
  • Mint leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your cantaloupe: Cut the cantaloupe in half and scoop out the seeds. Slice the flesh into bite-sized chunks and place in a blender.
  2. Blend it all together: Add 3 cups of filtered water, lime juice, and sugar to the blender. Secure the lid and blend until smooth.
  3. Strain it (optional): If desired, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove pulp.
  4. Taste and adjust: Taste the Agua Fresca and adjust the lime and sugar according to your preference.
  5. Serve over ice: Fill glasses with ice and pour the Agua Fresca over the top. Garnish with mint leaves.

Notes

For a fun twist, try adding a pinch of cayenne for spice or fresh berries for a fruity flavor.
