Spaghetti with Garlic and Olive Oil

A simple and satisfying Italian classic that combines spaghetti with sautéed garlic and olive oil.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 grams) spaghetti or other long pasta
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • 45 garlic cloves, finely sliced
  • 1 tsp dried chili flakes (or to taste)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil.
  2. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. Sauté the garlic in olive oil over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Toss in the drained spaghetti and mix well.
  5. Add parsley and Parmesan, then season with salt.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

Best served hot; try adding veggies or lemon zest for a twist!
