Strawberry Pretzel Jello Salad

A delightful dessert featuring a crunchy pretzel crust, creamy filling, and vibrant strawberry jello, perfect for gatherings or quiet nights in.

  • 2 ½ cups pretzels, coarsely chopped
  • ¼ cup granulated white sugar
  • ½ cup butter (melted)
  • 16 ounces Tru Whip or Cool Whip
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 6 ounces instant strawberry jello
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 quart strawberries, hulled and sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the coarsely chopped pretzels, ¼ cup of granulated sugar, and melted butter in a mixing bowl.
  3. Spread the pretzel mixture evenly in a 9×13 inch baking dish and bake for about 10 minutes.
  4. Let the crust cool completely.
  5. Beat together the cream cheese and 1 cup granulated sugar until light and fluffy, then gently fold in the Cool Whip.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.
  7. Dissolve the instant strawberry jello in 2 cups of boiling water and allow it to cool slightly.
  8. Add the sliced strawberries to the cooled jello mixture.
  9. Pour the strawberry-jello-strawberry mixture over the cream cheese layer and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
  10. Slice into squares and serve chilled.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider using sugar-free jello or mixing in various berries.
