Old Fashioned Blackberry Cobbler

A delightful dessert featuring fresh blackberries and a golden-brown topping, perfect for summer gatherings.

  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Rinse your blackberries gently under cold water and let them drain.
  3. Add blackberries to a 9×13 inch baking dish and sprinkle half of the sugar over them.
  4. Whisk together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  5. Pour in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, stirring until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter over the prepared blackberries.
  7. Slide the baking dish into your preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes.
  8. Let the cobbler cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Best served warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Can be made with frozen blackberries as a substitute.
