Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

A comforting dessert that captures the essence of summer with succulent peaches and a flaky crust.

  • 6 cups fresh peaches, sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Let them sit for about 10-15 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth.
  4. Melt one stick of unsalted butter in a 9×13 inch baking dish in the oven.
  5. Pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring. Spread the peach mixture on top.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for the perfect topping.
