Apple Cider Pork Chops

Juicy pork chops cooked in a sweet and tangy apple cider sauce, enhanced with caramelized onions and fresh thyme.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Pork Chops (bone-in preferred)
  • 1 cup Apple Cider
  • 1 large Onion, sliced
  • 2 sprigs Fresh Thyme
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pork chops by seasoning them generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Sear the pork chops in a large skillet over medium-high heat with butter for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Add the sliced onions to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes until soft.
  4. De-glaze with apple cider, scraping the bottom of the pan to release browned bits, and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Combine the pork chops with the onions, add thyme, cover, and simmer on low for about 10-15 minutes.
  6. Add the remaining butter to the skillet, stirring gently to create a rich sauce.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.

Notes

Serve over creamy mashed potatoes or paired with roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
