Chicken Kofta with Garlic Yogurt Sauce

A flavorful and comforting recipe for chicken kofta served with a refreshing garlic yogurt sauce, perfect for family dinners or meal prep.

  • 500 grams ground chicken
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the kofta mixture by combining ground chicken, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Shape the mixture into uniform oval-shaped or cylindrical patties, about the size of a golf ball.
  3. Cook the kofta in a skillet over medium heat with olive oil for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked.
  4. Make the garlic yogurt sauce by mixing yogurt, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt, then adding minced garlic.

Notes

Let the garlic yogurt sauce rest in the fridge before serving to enhance flavors. Serve kofta on a bed of rice or with pita bread.
