Spooky Spaghetti and Meatballs

A hauntingly delicious Halloween treat featuring meatballs shaped like little monster heads atop a bed of spaghetti with spooky mozzarella eyeballs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Spaghetti
  • Marinara sauce
  • Mozzarella balls
  • Olives or peppercorns for eyeball pupils

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and pepper.
  2. Once everything is mixed thoroughly, it’s time to shape the meatballs. Aim for 1.5 inches in diameter, molding them into little “monster heads.”
  3. Arrange your meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for about 20-25 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  4. While the meatballs bake, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions.
  5. In a large pot, heat your marinara sauce over medium heat. Once bubbling, gently transfer the cooked meatballs into the sauce to coat and simmer for about 5-10 minutes.
  6. Once everything is ready, plate the spaghetti and arrange the meatballs on top, using mozzarella balls as “eyeballs” with olives or peppercorns for pupils.

Notes

For a spooky effect, plate with fresh parsley and serve with garlic bread or a fresh salad. Feel free to add creativity with different shapes or sauces.
