Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups fresh peaches, sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the peaches: In a large bowl, combine your freshly sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Let this sit for about 10 minutes.
  3. Make the batter: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Pour in the milk and melted butter, then stir until just combined.
  4. Assemble your cobbler: Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray. Pour the batter into the base of the dish, then spoon the peach mixture over the top.
  5. Add a sprinkle of cinnamon: If desired, sprinkle your ground cinnamon evenly over the peaches.
  6. Bake it up: Bake for about 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Let it cool: Allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
