Easy Plum Amaretto Sorbet

A refreshing and vibrant summer treat made with ripe plums and a splash of amaretto.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe plums, pitted and chopped
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup amaretto liqueur
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prep the plums by washing them thoroughly, pitting, and chopping them into small pieces.
  2. Make simple syrup by combining 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water in a saucepan, bringing it to a boil, and stirring until dissolved. Let cool.
  3. Blend the chopped plums, cooled simple syrup, lemon juice, amaretto, and salt until smooth.
  4. Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness or acidity as needed.
  5. Chill and freeze the mixture in a shallow dish for about 4 hours or churn in an ice cream maker until soft serve consistency and freeze until firm.
  6. Ready to serve, let sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping.

Notes

For a beautiful presentation, serve in chilled dessert bowls or elegant glasses. Optionally top with fresh mint or toasted almonds.
