Spooky Skull Caprese Salad

A festive Caprese salad transformed into spooky skulls, perfect for Halloween gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 8-ounce package of fresh mozzarella pearls
  • 10-ounce package of cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by rinsing cherry tomatoes and basil leaves under cold water and patting dry.
  2. Shape the mozzarella pearls or cut skull shapes from the block of mozzarella.
  3. Slice the cherry tomatoes in half with a sharp knife.
  4. Assemble the mozzarella skulls on a plate and surround them with halved cherry tomatoes.
  5. Drizzle olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper over the salad.
  6. Finish with scattered basil leaves or cut them into bat shapes.
  7. Serve immediately for the freshest flavor.

Notes
