Strawberry Pretzel Salad

A whimsical blend of sweet and salty with layers of pretzel crust, creamy filling, fresh strawberries, and vibrant jello.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup strawberry jello
  • 2 cups boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and granulated sugar in a bowl. Press into a 9×13 inch dish and bake for 10 minutes. Let cool completely.
  3. Beat softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Spread over the cooled pretzel crust.
  4. Combine strawberry jello with 2 cups boiling water until dissolved. Let cool for about 30 minutes.
  5. Add sliced strawberries to the jello mixture and pour it over the cream cheese layer. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, until set.
  6. Serve by cutting into squares, optionally garnishing with extra crushed pretzels.

Notes

Let the jello cool sufficiently before layering to avoid it becoming mushy. This dish can be made a day in advance.
