  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Gather all your ingredients and let them come to room temperature.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
  3. Add wet ingredients: Make a well in the center of your dry mix and pour in the warm water and olive oil.
  4. Knead the dough: Turn the mixture onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes.
  5. First rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise until doubled in size (1 to 1.5 hours).
  6. Shape the dough: Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf.
  7. Second rise: Place the shaped dough in a greased loaf pan and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Bake your bread: Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool and enjoy: Let it cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing in herbs or cheese. You can also freeze the dough after the first rise for later use.
